MY FRENCH CLOSET

Don't Be a Fashion Victim - Find your Style!

High Fashion? or low minded exploitation of children?

I was watching CNN, and of course I got interested by a segment about High Fashion... for kids.
My first thought was if people want to spend their money that way I think it's crazy, but that's their business.

Gucci look $1995Gucci look $1400
I admit they look cute, but what purpose is being served here? This isn't playing with mommy's clothes. These kids aren't choosing to look that way, and I doubt if they really care about wearing Gucci.  Are parents so jaded ...

Golden Globes 2012 errors? or just plain wrong?

Errors? or just plain wrong?

Yes, Will, you are making a face because Amy Poehler in Naem Kahn looks completely washed out. It's a no, no. You don't wear gold with blond hair, and this is why.

Hey, Tilda, the wedding's next door. This is the Golden Globes, remember?  You aren't the mother of the bride.

Amanda Peet covered with lace too. Is it Marc Jacob's curtain collection?

Hits and Misses at the Golden Globes 2012 Part 2

I spoke about the hits, now let's look at the misses at the Golden Globes.

Gorgeous woman, gorgeous Versace gown, however they do
not belong together-  the "pout" with red lips, the bag matching the neckline of the gown.... could all look perfect on a mannequin in a Versace window, but they turn Angelina into an ice princess -  so ...

Hits and Misses at the Golden Globes 2012

I have been asked to give my thoughts on the fashion at the Golden Globes. At every show I
look at the style and the colors, and I am expecting actors and actresses to shine.
I want glamour. Is that too much to ask?
I am very disappointed this year at the poor work of my collegue wardrobe stylists. What were you thinking? Rachel Zoe and others are so focused on their own promotion that they forgot the 101 of our profession.

Look at the artist, her coloring, skin tone, hair. ...

Hooray! for "The Artist"

Harvey Weinstein said this movie is a love letter to Hollywood from a French director, and that we leave the movie theater feeling good. The French Cinema always had a love affair with Hollywood.Michel Hazanavicius directed a magical movie. Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo were exceptional.

I not only felt good, I dreamed, supported by the music and undisturbed by words, and was able to fill my eyes and my heart with beauty, sophistication and elegance.

Black Friday!

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57331160/black-friday-shoppers-pepper-sprayed-in-calif/

You probably are at the door of Target, Walmart, Macy's, Saks, Neiman's, ready for the deal of the century.

Just remember to buy what you really need, can afford. The real winners on Black Friday are usually the stores who are able to get rid of the inventory that has been sitting on their shelves.

If must participate in this madhouse,  concerntrate on holiday gifts and electronics, but realize that when it comes to apparel, those "great specials," have been in inventory ...

But I also have subscribers who seem to like what I'm doing. Thank you to all of you. Your encouragement means a lot to me.
